Message from Mark Barnett:
This should be a FABULOUS Reunion, the first one that combines 17-years of classes, including the first one (’64) to have graduated from the then brand-new Jefferson Street High School. Not only are there tours planned throughout the morning and early afternoon, we have many more exciting things scheduled throughout the afternoon and evening. We have even arranged for a meal to be served to everyone (for a nominal cost) in the 800-seat cafeteria across the road from the auditorium. The proceeds will go to benefit Project Graduation, a program that provides gifts and support to graduating seniors before going to college and trade schools.
The evening will conclude with lots of nostalgic entertainment from up to thirty-or-more musically-talented ’64-’79 classmates, performing tunes from the 60’s and 70’s that were popular when we were in school. These classmates started playing in bands while in junior or senior high, and have continued to get better and better since then. In high school, they performed in school assemblies, talent shows, churches, civic organizations, county fairs, community building events, junior/senior proms, and a myriad of other places. Some of the names for their bands were the Troubadours, Armageddon, Grandstand, and others. You won’t want to miss any of this, from the Folk Music opening act to the SPECTACULAR last 30-minute Finale!

For those coming from out-of-town and need a less expensive place to stay, Camp Siloam offers rustic motel-like rooms (cabins) for $45/night.
I’ll conclude with a paragraph that Roxana Reagan Morrill (class of ’71) shared with me in an email recently that appropriately sums up what this Reunion is all about:
“There is one theme I think IS a constant, and that is the importance of having a gathering focused primarily on our common bond--the one EVERYONE shares: that of having been students of our school and young citizens of our town. Wherever we have or have not been between then and now, whatever our interests and activities and talents, we all share that beginning, that background. We do not have to provide it to make a story come to life--it's the given that provided the backdrop for ALL our images, our antics, our shenanigans... our music. It's THE common bond. That shared given.”
Thanks Tim and Loren for supporting this multi-class reunion. With SUPER classmates representing every graduating class from ’64-’79, this should be loads of fun. Let me know if you have any further questions, thoughts, recommendations or suggestions. I’ll continue to provide you with further updates and information from time-to-time between now and September.
Respectfully Yours,
Mark Barnett
